Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked BSW Sixers (6-9) lost to fourth ranked Oldenburg (8-7) in Sandersdorf 79-91 on Friday. BSW Sixers were trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 32-14 charge of Oldenburg, which allowed them to win the game. BSW Sixers were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American guard Michael Taylor (193-87, college: Whitworth) who led his team to a victory with 30 points. point guard Kevin Smit (183-91) contributed with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American guard Jeremie Simmons (188, college: Ohio St., agency: SDJ Sports) answered with 17 points and the other American import power forward Nate Gerwig (206-83, college: Kent St., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 9 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for BSW Sixers. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. BSW Sixers' coach Timo Stumpf rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Oldenburg maintains fourth place in Group North with 8-7 record. BSW Sixers at the other side dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. Oldenburg will face RSV Eintracht (#12) in Stahnsdorf in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BSW Sixers will play at home against Herten Lions (#3).
