Regular Season Round 15: Herten Lions - SU Medien 84-61

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Herten Lions (11-4) outplayed at home 6th ranked Spot Up Medien Baskets (6-9) 84-61 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 84-61. It was a good game for American forward Will Taylor (200-89, college: Cal Poly - SLO) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Adrian Bowie (189-89, college: Maryland) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Herten Lions players scored in double figures. American point guard Steven Bennett (173-88, college: Chaminade) answered with 17 points and international point guard Dennis Schroeder (181-93) added 16 points and 5 assists in the effort for Spot Up Medien Baskets. Spot Up Medien Baskets' coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Herten Lions maintains third place in Group North with 11-4 record having just three points less than leader Dragons. Spot Up Medien Baskets at the other side keep the sixth position with nine games lost. Herten Lions will face BSW Sixers (#9) in Sandersdorf in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Spot Up Medien Baskets will play on the road against the league's leader SG Schwelmer Baskets.
