Regular Season Round 38: Cherkasy - Mykolaiv 67-74

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Mykolaiv (13-13) beat on the road 9th ranked Cherkasy (13-13) 74-67 on Friday. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was swingman Dwayne Mitchell (196-82, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Interperformances) who scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Josh Mayo (182-87, college: Ill.-Chicago, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) chipped in 16 points. Mykolaiv's coach Agris Galvanovskis used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Charles Thomas (203-86, college: Arkansas) produced 20 points and 8 rebounds and forward Vincent Hunter (208-84, college: Arkansas) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Mykolaiv moved-up to seventh place, which they share with BC Donetsk and Cherkasy. Mykolaiv will have a break next round.
