There was no surprise in Klaipeda where 5th ranked Aistes-LSU (6-10) was defeated by third ranked Fortuna (12-4) 69-65 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 16-7 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Fortuna dominated on the defensive end, holding Aistes-LSU to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of Monika Grigalauskyte (190-92) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Egle Siksniute (198-91) who added 15 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Four Fortuna players scored in double figures. At the losing side power forward Laura Svaryte (190-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds and forward Jolanta Marmiene (181-79) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Fortuna have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Loser Aistes-LSU keeps the fifth position with ten games lost. They share it with Ruta Siauliai. Fortuna will meet Suduva (#4) in the next round. Aistes-LSU will play against Utena and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
