Regular Season Round 25: Radviliskis - Birstono 80-69

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 13th ranked Birstono (10-15) was defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked Radviliskis (9-15) 80-69 on Friday. Radviliskis dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Birstono's 22. Radviliskis forced 20 Birstono turnovers and outrebounded them 44-26 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Birstono was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Antanas Montrimavicius (199-87) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and forward Vaidas Trepocka (200-80, agency: Court Side) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side Simas Raupys (195-94) responded with 19 points (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) and forward Karolis Kokoska (194-92) scored 15 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Radviliskis maintains fourteenth place with 9-15 record. Loser Birstono dropped to the twelfth position with 15 games lost. Radviliskis will face higher ranked S.Marciulionio (#10) in Vilnius in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
