Ligaen top team - Svendborg (18-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Randers (8-11) 105-75. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Randers. The game without a history. Svendborg led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Svendborg forced 19 Randers turnovers and outrebounded them 40-25 including 18 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Randers' players. It was a quality performance for American power forward Donald Rutherford (199-87, college: Catawba) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). U.S. Virgin Islands power forward Gregory Washington (208-84, college: Hofstra) accounted for 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. American forward Bonell Colas (205-82, college: Florida) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds and forward Christian Nielsen (201-86, college: Wagner) added 12 points respectively for Randers in the defeat. Five Svendborg and four Randers players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Svendborg have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 18-2 record. Newly promoted Randers keep the sixth position with 11 games lost. Svendborg will play against Naestved (#5) on the road in the next round. Randers will play against Aalborg and hope to get back on the winning track.
