Regular Season Round 13: Heli Girls - Freiburg 76-80

The game between third ranked Heli Girls (9-4) and sixth ranked Eisvogel Freiburg (8-5) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Heli Girls were defeated by Eisvogel Freiburg in a tough game in Noerdlingen 76-80. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-14. But Heli Girls won second period 21-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Eisvogel Freiburg forced 23 Heli Girls turnovers. American swingman Brooque Williams (176, college: California, PA) fired 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Her fellow American import forward Mariesa Greene (183-87, college: Barry) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Finnish swingman Heta Korpivaara (186-84, college: Seton Hall, agency: Regeneracom Sports) produced 19 points and Cuban forward Yadira Francis (186-85) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Heli Girls players scored in double figures. Eisvogel Freiburg have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place. Heli Girls lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with four games lost. They share it with Wolfenbuettel. Eisvogel Freiburg are looking forward to face Don Bosco Bamberg (#11) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Heli Girls will play against Wildcats Wolfenbuettel (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
