Regular Season Round 15: Falcon - Amager 59-54
Date: January 19, 2013
Rather expected game when 6th ranked Amager (4-11) was defeated on the road by third ranked Falcon (9-5) 59-54. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 20-6. But Amager won second period 21-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Falcon dominated on the defensive end, holding Amager to just 6 points in first quarter. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a good game for American center Trenice Fuller (193-87, college: Hofstra) who led her team to a victory with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 blocks. Guard Sofie Vincents (171-87) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Falcon's coach Ole Vincents used entire bench in such tough game. Swingman Catharina Jensen (183-89) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and forward Emilie Keller (177-92) added 18 points in the effort for Amager. The victory was the third consecutive win for Falcon. They maintain third place with 9-5 record having five points less than leader SISU. Amager lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 11 games lost. Falcon's next round opponent will be Horsholm (#4) at home. Amager will play against Horsens and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
