Regular Season Round 15: TSV Troester - Dresden 78-75

There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked TSV Troester (3-12) edged higher ranked Dresden (6-9) in Breitenguessbach 78-75 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Dresden won third quarter 23-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TSV Troester forced 21 Dresden turnovers. Dresden was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Johannes Richter (206-93) who led his team to a victory with 9 points and 15 rebounds. point guard Daniel Schmidt (186-90) contributed with 15 points for the winners. American guard Jason Boucher (180-80, college: Grand Valley St.) answered with 27 points and 4 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and the other American import Andrew Jones (191-83, college: Miles) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Dresden. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. TSV Troester maintains twelfth place in Group South with 3-12 record. Newly promoted Dresden dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost. TSV Troester will face higher ranked Hanau (#10) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
