An interesting game took place in Kirchheim where higher ranked BV Chemnitz 99 (10-8) was upset on the court of fifteenth ranked Kirchheim Knights (6-12) 91-74 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Kirchheim Knights. BV Chemnitz 99 managed to win second period 21-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kirchheim Knights made 29-of-38 free shots (76.3 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was naturalized Serbian guard Radivoj Tomasevic (180-78) who scored 23 points. American point guard Chris Alexander (186-83, college: Southern) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Four Kirchheim Knights players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Donald Lawson (208-88, college: W.Michigan) who recorded 20 points and 8 rebounds and forward Robert Cardenas (200-82) added 15 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kirchheim Knights moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Crailsheim and Gotha. Loser BV Chemnitz 99 keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Ehingen. Kirchheim Knights will meet higher ranked Finke Baskets (#12) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. BV Chemnitz 99 will play against Science City Jena (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
