Very expected game when 9th ranked Istanbul Universitesi (6-8) lost on the road to third ranked Kayseri (11-3) 64-54. The game was mostly controlled by Kayseri. Istanbul Universitesi was better in fourth quarter 14-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American power forward Nicky Anosike (190-86, college: Tennessee) who scored 9 points and 13 rebounds. The other American import power forward Asjha Jones (191-80, college: Connecticut) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Russian center Irina Osipova (196-81) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and American center Jessica Davenport (196-85, college: Ohio St.) added 10 points and 14 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Istanbul Universitesi players scored in double figures. Istanbul Universitesi's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kayseri maintains third position with 11-3 record having just three points less than leader Fenerbahce. Istanbul Universitesi at the other side keeps the ninth place with eight games lost. Kayseri's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Edremit (#14) in Balikesir which should be an easy win for them. Istanbul Universitesi will play at home against Antakya (#7) in Hatay and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
