Important game to mention about took place in Donetsk. Third ranked Avantazh-Politekhnik (13-3) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging second-ranked Khartsyzsk (15-3) 88-86 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Khartsyzsk. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-11. But Khartsyzsk won second period 27-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Khartsyzsk was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international guard Timur Arabadzhi (192-81) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Forward Anton Rochnyak (206-91) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. point guard Pavlo Copich (180-86) replied with 21 points and 4 assists and forward Evgen Korovyakov (197-88) added 15 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Khartsyzsk. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Khartsyzsk's coach Vladimir Bryaukhavetshy tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Avantazh-Politekhnik have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 13-3 record having nine points less than leader Musson. Khartsyzsk at the other side keeps the second place with three games lost. Avantazh-Politekhnik will play against bottom-ranked Ternopil-TNEU (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Khartsyzsk will have a break next round.
