Regular Season Round 20: ALBA - LTi 46ers 83-69
Date: January 26, 2013
Very predictable result when fifth ranked ALBA Berlin (12-5) beat at home bottom-ranked LTi 46ers (4-15) 83-69. The game without a history. ALBA Berlin led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The winners were led by American forward Deon Thompson (203-88, college: N.Carolina) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import point guard DaShaun Wood (185-85, college: Wright St.) supported him with 15 points. Five ALBA Berlin players scored in double figures. ALBA Berlin's coach Sasa Obradovic used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 19 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists by Bosnian power forward Elvir Ovcina (212-76, college: Syracuse, agency: Interperformances) did not help to save the game for LTi 46ers. Center Andreas Buechert (208-87, college: Winthrop, agency: Limelight Hoops) added 13 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. ALBA Berlin moved-up to third place. LTi 46ers lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. ALBA Berlin's next round opponent will be EWE Baskets (#4) in Oldenburg. LTi 46ers will play at home against Walter Tigers (#13) in Tuebingen.
