An interesting game for Satu Mare (15-3) which hosted in Satu Mare 4th placed Alba Iulia (12-5). Third ranked Satu Mare managed to get a 11-point victory 76-65. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Alba Iulia. The game was mostly controlled by Satu Mare. Alba Iulia managed to win fourth quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Khadijah Whittington (185-86, college: N.Carolina St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. International guard Annemarie Parau (170-84) contributed with 17 points and 5 assists (made all of her seven free throws) for the winners. Four Satu Mare players scored in double figures. Russian-Israeli forward Ekaterina Abramzon (185-87) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Rebecca Tobin (195-88, college: Arizona St.) added 25 points in the effort for Alba Iulia. Satu Mare have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 15-3 record behind leader ICIM Arad. Alba Iulia at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with Sf.Gheorghe. Satu Mare are looking forward to face Sp.Studentesc (#9) in Bucuresti in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Alba Iulia will play at home against the league's leader ICIM Arad (#1) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
