Regular Season Round 14: Trier - Viernheim 48-78

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked TSV Amicitia (8-5) outleveled on the road 10th ranked Trier (1-12) 78-48 on Saturday. TSV Amicitia held Trier to an opponent 24.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 52.6 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Trier 44-28 including a 32-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. American swingman Kellindra Zackery (182-88, college: Newman) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Jeanne Wilson (190) chipped in 13 points and 13 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. American swingman Robin Murphy (185, college: S.Mississippi) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and guard Sabrina Thomas (163) scored 12 points. Trier's coach Wolfgang Esser already knew that her team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. TSV Amicitia moved-up to fourth place in South, which they share with Heidelberg. Trier lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 12 games lost. TSV Amicitia will face league's second-placed Gruner Stern Keltern at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Trier will play against the league's leader TV Saarlouis Royals (#1).
