Very important is a road loss of second ranked SC Rist Wedel (12-4) against tenth ranked Herzoege Wolfenbuettel (6-10) on Saturday night. Visiting SC Rist Wedel was defeated by Herzoege Wolfenbuettel in a tough game in Wolfenbuettel 69-75. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of SC Rist Wedel. SC Rist Wedel trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 21-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 69-75 at the end of the game. The winners were led by American forward Travis Clark (195, college: Lake Forest) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 27 points and 12 rebounds (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field) and guard Dennis Nawrocki (190-92) supported him with 13 points. Even 18 points and 6 assists by American Davey Hopkins (195-88, college: Biola, CA) did not help to save the game for SC Rist Wedel. His fellow American import point guard Augie Johnston (185-86, college: CS Monterey) added 20 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Four SC Rist Wedel players scored in double figures. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel moved-up to eighth place in Group North, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser SC Rist Wedel keeps the second position with four games lost. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel will meet at home higher ranked Hannover Tigers (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. SC Rist Wedel will play against BSV Wulfen (#9) and hope to secure a win.
