Regular Season Round 14: Marburg - Osnabruck 63-69

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked BC Pharmaserv Marburg (6-8) lost at home to eighth ranked Osnabruck (8-6) 69-63. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-17. But BC Pharmaserv Marburg won second period 13-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American forward Ali Schwagmeyer (180-90, college: Quincy, agency: Gamble Sports Management) who scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. The other American import guard Jasmine Byrd (173-85, college: NC-Greensboro) chipped in 20 points. Four Osnabruck players scored in double figures. American guard Amanda Davidson (170-83, college: Indianapolis) produced 22 points and 5 assists and the former international forward Margret Skuballa (186-87) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Osnabruck moved-up to sixth place. BC Pharmaserv Marburg lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. Osnabruck's next round opponent will be league's second-placed SV Halle Lions at home and it may be quite challenging game. BC Pharmaserv Marburg will play against Herner TC (#12).
