Regular Season Round 14: Halle - Oberhausen 52-54

The most exciting game of round 14 in the DBBL took place in Halle. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of second-ranked SV Halle Lions (10-4) to tenth ranked Oberhausen (5-9) 54-52 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of SV Halle Lions. The guests trailed by 10 points at the halftime before their 30-18 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Oberhausen dominated on the defensive end, holding SV Halle Lions to just 6 points in third quarter. American guard Markeshia Grant (167, college: S.Carolina) orchestrated the victory by scoring 10 points. Fijian guard Valerie Nainima (165-86, college: S.Carolina) contributed with 11 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Daphanie Kennedy (175-86, college: Pepperdine) replied with 16 points and 5 rebounds and forward Laura Hebecker (181-93) added 10 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for SV Halle Lions. Oberhausen have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with BG 89 Avides. SV Halle Lions at the other side keep the second position with four games lost. They share it with Wolfenbuettel. Oberhausen is looking forward to face higher ranked Eisvogel Freiburg (#4) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. SV Halle Lions will play against Osnabruck and are hoping to win this game.
