Regular Season Round 15: Edremit - Kayseri 70-74

Very expected game in Balikesir where 14th ranked Edremit (1-14) was defeated by third ranked Kayseri (12-3) 74-70 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Edremit won third quarter 17-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kayseri dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Edremit's 36. Kayseri forced 25 Edremit turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Begum Dalgalar (183-88) who scored 17 points. American power forward Nicky Anosike (190-86, college: Tennessee) chipped in 7 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Ashley Paris (191-87, college: Oklahoma) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 17 rebounds and Lithuanian swingman Marina Solopova (180-90) added 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Kayseri. They maintain third place with 12-3 record having just two points less than leader Fenerbahce. Edremit lost their tenth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. Kayseri will meet at home league's second-placed Galatasaray in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Edremit will play against Istanbul Universitesi (#7) in Istanbul.
