Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Bigaspor (4-11) was outplayed on the road by second ranked Edirne (13-2) 92-38 on Sunday. The game without a history. Edirne led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Bigaspor to just 7 points in first quarter. Edirne dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Bigaspor's 24. Edirne forced 27 Bigaspor turnovers and outrebounded them 49-22 including a 20-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Bigaspor's players. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Yasemin Ibek (-91) who scored 13 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. American power forward Susan Lester (188-88, college: Butler) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Munevver Ozemre (-93) who recorded 16 points and Muge Gozde Inan (-88) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Edirne. They maintain second place in Group C with 13-2 record having just two points less than leader Cankaya. Bigaspor lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the seventh position with 11 games lost. Edirne will face Harran Uni. (#9) in Sanliurfa in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bigaspor will play at home against Sakarya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
