There was an upset when higher ranked Darussafaka (11-7) was defeated at home by twelfth ranked Istanbul B.B. (8-10) 89-80 on Sunday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Istanbul B.B. dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Darussafaka's 32. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Guard Ahmet Bugrahan (-94) scored 28 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American power forward Arthur Johnson (206-81, college: Missouri) chipped in 20 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Marcus Hall (185-85, college: Colorado) with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and swingman Cihan Amasyali (191-83) scored 23 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Istanbul B.B. maintains twelfth position with 8-10 record, which they share with Bandirma Kir. Darussafaka lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with seven games lost. Istanbul B.B. will face Baskent Genclik (#15) in Ankara in the next round. Darussafaka will play on the road against Vestel (#7) in Manisa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
