Regular Season Round 16: Galatasaray - Antalya 85-65

Very expected game in Istanbul where 15th ranked Antalya (3-13) was rolled over by fifth ranked Galatasaray (13-3) 85-65 on Sunday. Galatasaray dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Antalya's 28. They outrebounded Antalya 41-28 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Galatasaray looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Puerto Rican guard Carlos Arroyo (188-79, college: FIU, agency: Interperformances) fired 20 points for the winners. International Furkan Aldemir (207-91, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 9 points and 11 rebounds. Galatasaray's coach Ergin Ataman used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Jordan Theodore (182-89, college: Seton Hall) produced 9 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and his fellow American import forward Rodney Carney (201-84, college: Memphis) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Galatasaray have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Anadolu Efes and Karsiyaka. Loser Antalya dropped to the fourteenth position with 13 games lost. Galatasaray will face Aliaga (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Antalya will play against Turk Telekom (#13) in Ankara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
