DBBL top team - TSV 1880 Wasserburg (12-2) added another victory to their record on Sunday. This time they beat eighth ranked Rotenburg/Scheessel (5-9) 77-71. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-14. But Rotenburg/Scheessel won second period 23-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when TSV 1880 Wasserburg won last quarter 14-9. American forward Emma Cannon (188-89, college: Cent.Florida) notched a double-double by scoring 25 points and 20 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international swingman Anne Breitreiner (183-84, agency: LBM Management) supported her with 26 points and 5 assists. Even 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists by American guard Vanessa House (170-88, college: W.Virginia) did not help to save the game for Rotenburg/Scheessel. International guard Pia Mankertz (170-90) added 17 points and 6 assists for the guests. TSV 1880 Wasserburg have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-2 record. Rotenburg/Scheessel lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the ninth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Oberhausen. TSV 1880 Wasserburg will meet Heli Girls (#5) in the next round. Rotenburg/Scheessel will play against Rhein Main Baskets (#7) in Langen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
