The game in Panevezys supposed to be also worth to mention about. Top-ranked Zalgiris (7-0) played at the court of 8th ranked Lietkabelis (5-8). Zalgiris smashed Lietkabelis 113-61. The game without a history. Zalgiris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Lietkabelis' 30. Zalgiris forced 24 Lietkabelis turnovers and outrebounded them 40-21 including a 29-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Zalgiris especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Lietkabelis' players. It was a good game for the former international forward Mindaugas Kuzminskas (205-89) who led his team to a victory with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international center Darjus Lavrinovic (212-79) contributed with 18 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Zalgiris players scored in double figures. Center Mindaugas Kupsas (215-91) replied with 10 points and 9 rebounds and Arnas Butkevicius (196-92) added 10 points in the effort for Lietkabelis. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zalgiris have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to third place. Lietkabelis lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. Zalgiris will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lietkabelis will play on the road against LSU-Baltai (#10) in Kaunas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
