Regular Season Round 19: Kibirkstis-Tiche - Utena 65-69

The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked Kibirkstis-Tiche (16-3) in Vilnius on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by seventh ranked Utena (4-15) 69-65. The guests trailed by 10 points at the halftime before their 37-23 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Kibirkstis-Tiche outrebounded Utena 44-31 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for point guard Rita Milieskiene (175-78) who led her team to a victory scoring 17 points and 6 rebounds. Serbian center Ana Radovic (190-90, agency: LBM Management) helped adding 18 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side international guard Greta Sniokaite (180-91) responded with 23 points and 8 rebounds and international guard Mante Kvederaviciute (180-90) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Utena maintains seventh place with 4-15 record. Kibirkstis-Tiche at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Utena are looking forward to face league's second-placed Sirenos in Kaunas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kibirkstis-Tiche will play on the road against Aistes-LSU in Kaunas and is hoping to win this game.
