The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked Goettingen's (9-6) road victory over 7th ranked Quakenbrueck Dragons (7-8) 75-70 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. The best player for the winners was Polish forward Klaudia Grudzien (183-90) who scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. American swingman Jenele Peterson (174, college: Whitman) chipped in 19 points and 6 assists. Goettingen's coach Jennifer Kerns allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian center Hannah Sunley-Paisley (186) who recorded 21 points and 7 rebounds and American center Lisa Peterson (187, college: Westmont) added 11 points and 7 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) respectively. Goettingen moved-up to third place in North, which they share with Mainz. Loser Quakenbrueck Dragons keep the seventh position with eight games lost. Goettingen will face ASC Theresianum Mainz (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Quakenbrueck Dragons will play against Hannover (#12).
