Regular Season Round 17: TSV Troester - Bayer Giants 70-74

Very expected game in Breitenguessbach where 12th ranked TSV Troester (3-14) was defeated by fifth ranked Bayer Giants (10-7) 74-70 on Saturday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 32-19. But TSV Troester won second period 18-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bayer Giants made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 TSV Troester turnovers. Strangely TSV Troester outrebounded Bayer Giants 47-30 including 19 on the offensive glass. American point guard Adonte Parker (183-89, college: Dayton) stepped up and scored 26 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners and his fellow American import Jack Eggleston (203-88, college: Pennsylvania, agency: Pro One Sports) chipped in 19 points and 10 rebounds. Johannes Richter (206-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds and American forward Derrick Parker (198, college: LSU-Shreveport) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks. TSV Troester's coach Jamie Duncan tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Bayer Giants. They moved-up to third place in Group South, which they share with Langen and Noerdlingen. Loser TSV Troester keeps the twelfth position with 14 games lost. Bayer Giants will face league's second-placed Weissenhorn Youngstars at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. TSV Troester will play against Noerdlingen (#4).
