Regular Season Round 20: Crailsheim - Karlsruhe 72-88

Date: February 2, 2013
There was no surprise when 13th ranked Crailsheim Merlins (7-13) were defeated at home by fourth ranked BG Karlsruhe (13-7) 88-72 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American forward Jeremy Black (203-85, college: Tampa, agency: Court Side) who scored 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). The other American import point guard Michael Stockton (185-89, college: Westminster, UT, agency: Limelight Hoops) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Four BG Karlsruhe players scored in double figures. Naturalized American swingman Jonathan Moore (203-82, college: N.C.Central) produced 15 points and 7 rebounds and American power forward Stevie Johnson (198-78, college: Iowa St.) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. BG Karlsruhe maintains fourth position with 13-7 record. Loser Crailsheim Merlins dropped to the fourteenth place with 13 games lost. BG Karlsruhe will face bottom-ranked USC Leipzig (#16) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Crailsheim Merlins will play against NBC in Nurnberg.
