Regular Season Round 19: Rudupis - Nevezis 108-87

Leader Rudupis delivered the twelfth win on Saturday night. This time they crushed 5th ranked Nevezis (6-7) 108-87 in Prienai. The game was mostly controlled by Rudupis. Nevezis managed to win fourth quarter 28-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rudupis shot 64.1 percent from the field. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Swingman Gediminas Orelikas (200-90) fired 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Arturas Valeika (207-85, college: Midland CC) chipped in 22 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Four Rudupis players scored in double figures. American forward Tony Bishop (201-89, college: Texas St., agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) produced 22 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and the former international point guard Vytenis Jasikevicius (187-85) added 14 points respectively for lost side. Nevezis' coach Darius Sirtautas gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Rudupis maintains first place with 12-1 record. Nevezis at the other side dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. Rudupis are looking forward to face league's second-placed Neptunas in Klaipeda in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Nevezis will play on the road against Lietkabelis (#9) in Panevezys and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
