A very interesting game took place in Ludwigsburg. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of higher ranked BBC Bayreuth (9-12) to seventeenth ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (7-14) 70-69 on Saturday evening. BBC Bayreuth was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Strangely BBC Bayreuth outrebounded EnBW Ludwigsburg 36-24 including 27 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American center Eric Coleman (200-85, college: N.Iowa) who scored 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). His fellow American import power forward John Turek (206-83, college: Nebraska) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Italian-American forward Joe Trapani (203-88, college: Boston Coll.) who recorded 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American forward Jason Cain (208-85, college: Virginia) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Four BBC Bayreuth players scored in double figures. BBC Bayreuth's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. EnBW Ludwigsburg moved-up to fifteenth place. BBC Bayreuth at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with 12 games lost. EnBW Ludwigsburg's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked LTi 46ers (#18) in Giessen.
