Regular Season Round 17: Wulfen - Rist Wedel 75-73

Date: February 2, 2013
The most exciting game of round 17 in the ProB took place in Wulfen. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-ranked SC Rist Wedel (12-5) to ninth ranked BSV Wulfen (7-10) 75-73 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-73. American center Anthony Young (200-89, college: Ky Wesleyan) stepped up and scored 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and guard Maik Berger (175-84) chipped in 14 points and 4 assists. Marvin Boadu (193-89) responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds and American point guard Augie Johnston (185-86, college: CS Monterey) scored 20 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. SC Rist Wedel's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. BSV Wulfen moved-up to sixth place in Group North, which they share with 4 other teams. SC Rist Wedel at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. BSV Wulfen is looking forward to face Hannover Tigers (#8) in Hannover in the next round. SC Rist Wedel will play at home against Spot Up Medien Baskets (#11) in Braunschweig and is hoping to win this game.
