There was an upset when 4th placed Oldenburg (9-8) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Dorsten (7-10) 78-72 on Saturday. It was a great shooting night for Dorsten especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. American guard Christopher Jones (183-88, college: Prairie View A&M) stepped up and scored 13 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners and his fellow American import center Justin Eller (203-87, college: Sacramento St.) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. Dorsten's coach Torsten Schierenbeck used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized American center Chris Heinrich (208-77, college: St.Louis) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Kevin Smit (183-91) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Dorsten moved-up to sixth place in Group North, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Oldenburg keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Dorsten will face BSW Sixers (#10) in Sandersdorf in the next round. Oldenburg will play at home against Herzoege Wolfenbuettel (#7).
