We should mention about the upset which took place in Jena, where higher ranked Science City Jena (9-11) lost at home to thirteenth ranked Finke Baskets (8-12) 73-83. Science City Jena was ahead by 4 points after three quarters before a 21-7 charge of Finke Baskets, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Science City Jena to just 7 points in fourth quarter. The winners were led by naturalized Israeli guard Guy Aud (188-89) who scored that evening 17 points and 6 assists and American swingman Billy Rush (201-88, college: Robert Morris) supported him with 18 points and 6 rebounds.
