Regular Season Round 20: BC Vienna - Gmunden 83-70

The game between Top Four teams took place in Wien. First ranked host BC Vienna (15-3) defeated second-ranked Gmunden Swans (14-5) 83-70. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gmunden Swans. The game was mostly controlled by BC Vienna. Gmunden Swans was better in third quarter 19-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. BC Vienna outrebounded Gmunden Swans 39-28 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by the former international guard Stjepan Stazic (199-78) who scored that evening 33 points (!!!) and American power forward Maurice Pearson (206-89, college: Georgetown, KY) supported him with 13 points and 16 rebounds. Even 18 points and 5 rebounds by American forward Robert Arnold (198-88, college: Boise St.) did not help to save the game for Gmunden Swans. His fellow American import point guard Joshua Brown (187-88, college: Towson) added 18 points for the guests. Four Gmunden Swans players scored in double figures. BC Vienna maintains first position with 15-3 record. Gmunden Swans at the other side dropped to the third place with five games lost. BC Vienna will play against Raiffeisen Wels (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Gmunden Swans will play against Arkadia Lions in Traiskirchen and hope to get back on the winning track.
