Regular Season Round 15: Wuerzburg - Bad Aibling 75-67

Everything went according to plan in Wuerzburg where third ranked TG Chooza Ladybaskets (9-4) won against 7th ranked Bad Aibling (6-7) 75-67 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-16. But Bad Aibling won second period 13-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TG Chooza Ladybaskets forced 19 Bad Aibling turnovers. Bad Aibling was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Alex McGuire (173-87, college: Army) who scored 22 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Eva Barthel (173) chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Ciara Iglehart (180-84, college: Ohio) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Lena-Marie Bradaric (166-93) added 10 points and 6 assists respectively. TG Chooza Ladybaskets maintains third place in South with 9-4 record having six points less than leader Saarlouis. Loser Bad Aibling keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. TG Chooza Ladybaskets will face TG 1889 Sandhausen (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bad Aibling will play against the league's second-placed Gruner Stern Keltern.
