No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Anadolu Efes (14-3) crushed 14th ranked Hacettepe (3-14) in Istanbul 91-61 on Monday. The game without a history. Anadolu Efes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Hacettepe's 32. Anadolu Efes forced 20 Hacettepe turnovers and outrebounded them 34-23 including 24 on the defensive glass. International Birkan Batuk (196-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 12 points and 5 rebounds. International Kerem Gonlum (208-77) contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Anadolu Efes players scored in double figures. American forward Ricardo Marsh (207-81, college: ODU) answered with 22 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Polat Kaya (197-86) added 9 points in the effort for Hacettepe. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Anadolu Efes moved-up to third place, which they share with Karsiyaka and Galatasaray. Hacettepe at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with 14 games lost. Anadolu Efes will face Aliaga (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hacettepe will play against Olin Edirne (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
