Ligaen top team - Svendborg (21-2) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Aarhus BC (5-18) 86-67. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Svendborg's pressure prevailed and they won that period 28-14 extending their advantage to 19 points. Svendborg forced 20 Aarhus BC turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Adama Darboe (190-86) who had a triple-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!). American power forward Donald Rutherford (199-87, college: Catawba) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. Five Svendborg players scored in double figures. American forward Charles Funches (203-88, college: Hampton) produced 26 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman Randy Dezouvre (195-87, college: Iona) added 25 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Svendborg have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 21-2 record. Aarhus BC lost eleventh consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 18 games lost. Svendborg will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
