Regular Season Round 26: SISU - Bakken 68-93
Date: February 7, 2013
The game between Top Four teams took place in Copenhagen. 4th ranked host SISU (13-10) was smashed by second ranked Bakken (18-5) 93-68. The game without a history. Bakken led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 19 SISU turnovers and outrebounded them 41-22 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Bakken players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Canadian forward Marvell Waithe (205-87, college: Arkansas) notched 18 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international center Chris Christoffersen (218-79, college: Oregon) supported him with 9 points and 11 rebounds. Bakken's coach Philip Dejworek felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 17 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals by the former international point guard Mikael Nielsen (178-90) did not help to save the game for SISU. American center Zack Moritz (210-88, college: Boise St.) added 16 points for the hosts. Bakken have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 18-5 record having just three points less than leader Svendborg. SISU at the other side keeps the fourth place with ten games lost. Bakken will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. SISU will play on the road against Vaerlose (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
