Regular Season Round 41: BC Kyiv - Hoverla 48-74

No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Hoverla (15-12) smashed on the road bottom-ranked BC Kyiv (6-22) 74-48 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Hoverla. BC Kyiv was better in third quarter 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding BC Kyiv to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Hoverla dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to BC Kyiv's 30. The best player for the winners was American forward Ryan Pearson (198-90, college: George Mason) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import Kyndall Dykes (190-87, college: New Orleans, agency: Edge Sports) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Dykes is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Hoverla's coach Evgeni Murzin felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International forward Vyacheslav Bobrov (201-92) produced 14 points and 8 rebounds and international Vladislav Podolian (194-86) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Hoverla moved-up to sixth place. BC Kyiv lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 22 lost games. Hoverla will face league's leader Budivelnyk in Kyiv in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BC Kyiv will play at home against Halychyna (#4) in Lviv.
