The game between closely ranked teams ended with 3rd placed Ferro-ZNTU's (18-10) road loss to second ranked Azovmash (20-8) 84-105 on Friday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Azovmash's pressure prevailed and they won that period 26-12 extending their advantage to 21 points. Azovmash outrebounded Ferro-ZNTU 39-19 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American point guard Lynn Greer (186-79, college: Temple) who scored 21 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international center Oleksiy Pecherov (213-85) chipped in 25 points and 6 rebounds. Four Azovmash players scored in double figures. Azovmash's coach Sergei Zavalin felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
