Regular Season Round 18: Licher Baeren - Leitershofen 70-62

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 8th ranked Leitershofen's (8-10) road loss to seventh ranked Licher Baeren (10-8) 62-70 on Saturday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-13. But Leitershofen won third quarter 15-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was forward Nino Valentic (198-90) who scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Power forward Daniel Dorr (202-83) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Four Licher Baeren players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Lindsey Hughey (190-89, college: Weber St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import guard James Washington (182-87, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: FCM) added 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Licher Baeren have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place in Group South, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Leitershofen keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. Licher Baeren will face TSV Troester (#12) in Breitenguessbach in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Leitershofen will play at home against Fraport Skyliners II (#4) in Frankfurt and be promoted back to the ProA just one year after relegation.
