Very predictable result when fifth ranked SG BBZ Opladen (9-7) rolled over 11th ranked Rhein MB II (3-13) in Langen 70-50 on Saturday. The game without a history. SG BBZ Opladen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. SG BBZ Opladen shot 20 for 27 from the free-throw line, while Rhein MB II only scored three points from the stripe. SG BBZ Opladen forced 21 Rhein MB II turnovers and outrebounded them 43-31 including 28 on the offensive glass. Quite impressive performance for center Mareike Nettersheim (186) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws). Center Marie Gulich (192-94) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four SG BBZ Opladen players scored in double figures. Forward Sarah Schmidt (180-86) replied with 9 points and 6 rebounds and forward Sabrina Deffert (174-91) added 2 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Rhein MB II. Rhein MB II's coach Harald Roth rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. SG BBZ Opladen moved-up to fourth place in North, which they share with Mainz and Gruenberg. Rhein MB II lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the twelfth position with 13 games lost. SG BBZ Opladen will face Baskets Grunberg (#5) in Gruenberg in the next round. Rhein MB II will play on the road against TG Neuss (#7).
