Worth to mention about the upset in a game between NBC (9-12) and Crailsheim Merlins (8-13), which took place in Nurnberg. Higher ranked NBC lost at home to fifteenth ranked Crailsheim Merlins 80-92. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of NBC. It looked good early as NBC took an 5-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Crailsheim Merlins had a 29-16 second period charge getting the lead and NBC was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 80-92. Crailsheim Merlins made 19-of-22 charity shots (86.4 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was naturalized American swingman Jonathan Moore (203-82, college: N.C.Central) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds. American guard Derek Coleman (180-84, college: Robert Morris) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Crailsheim Merlins players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Zamal Nixon (186-89, college: Houston) who recorded 37 points (!!!) and 4 steals and swingman Cornelius Adler (195-89) added 5 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. NBC's coach Martin Ides tested eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Crailsheim Merlins moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Kirchheim and Gotha. NBC at the other side keeps the ninth position with 12 games lost. Crailsheim Merlins' next round opponent will be higher ranked BV Chemnitz 99 (#6) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
