Regular Season Round 18: Stahnsdorf - Herten Lions 66-78

Very expected game in Stahnsdorf where 12th ranked RSV Eintracht (5-13) was defeated by third ranked Herten Lions (12-6) 78-66 on Saturday. RSV Eintracht was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Herten Lions dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to RSV Eintracht's 28 and made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Herten Lions forced 20 RSV Eintracht turnovers and had a 31-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was power forward Christoph Hackenesch (204-86) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. American forward Will Taylor (200-89, college: Cal Poly - SLO) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Tobias Grauel (195-86) who recorded 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Blair Wheadon (191-90, college: W.Oregon) added 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Four RSV Eintracht players scored in double figures. Herten Lions moved-up to second place in Group North, which they share with Rist Wedel. Loser RSV Eintracht keeps the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Herten Lions will face Recklinghausen (#5) at home in the next round. RSV Eintracht will play against Dorsten (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
