Everything could happen in Balikesir at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Burhaniye Bld and 5th ranked 55 Genclik had identical 8-8 record. This time Burhaniye Bld used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Samsun 80-75 on Saturday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-19. But 55 Genclik won second period 22-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 55 Genclik was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Cansu Meryem Altay (-95) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and Hande Celebi (-90) chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Nola Taylor (188-87, college: Tex.A&M-Comm.) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 22 rebounds and Gulsah Durmus (-84) scored 20 points. Four 55 Genclik players scored in double figures. Burhaniye Bld (9-8) moved-up to fifth place in Group A. 55 Genclik lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. Burhaniye Bld will face higher ranked Dizdar (#4) in Istanbul in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. 55 Genclik will play at home against Yalova and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
