Regular Season Round 18: Hannover - Wulfen 81-69

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Hannover Tigers and 9th ranked BSV Wulfen had identical 7-10 record. This time Hannover Tigers used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Wulfen 81-69 on Saturday night. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-69. Hannover Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to BSV Wulfen's 28 and made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Nigerian-American forward Michael Fakuade (201-89, college: Ill.-Springfield, agency: N.E.T.) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. American guard Ashanti Cook (188-84, college: Georgetown) chipped in 11 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Anthony Young (200-89, college: Ky Wesleyan) who recorded a double-double by scoring 28 points and 16 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and guard Hendrik Bellscheidt (193-90) added 14 points respectively. Hannover Tigers (8-10) moved-up to sixth place in Group North, which they share with BSW Sixers. Loser BSV Wulfen dropped to the eighth position with 11 games lost. Hannover Tigers will face Spot Up Medien Baskets (#8) in Braunschweig in the next round. BSV Wulfen will play at home against Oldenburg.
