There was no surprise when 6th ranked Frankivsk-Hal. (1-14) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Interkhim (8-10) 68-64 on Sunday. Frankivsk-Hal. was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Frankivsk-Hal. was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was guard Alisa Siromatnikova (165-87) who scored 21 points and 7 rebounds. Center Valeriya Liapina (185-87) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Katerina Polyanychka (178-90) who recorded 23 points and 8 rebounds and Olga Chernenko added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Interkhim maintains fourth place with 8-10 record. Frankivsk-Hal. at the other side stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. Interkhim will face higher ranked Tim-Scuf (#3) in Kyiv in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
