There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Hannover (4-12) edged at home 8th ranked Quakenbrueck Dragons (7-9) 64-61 on Sunday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 19-9. But Quakenbrueck Dragons won second period 22-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hannover forced 19 Quakenbrueck Dragons turnovers. It was a very good performance for guard Annika Schudak (160) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Alexa Mennen (185-87, college: N.Iowa) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Five Hannover players scored in double figures. Canadian guard Brittany Moore (168-89) replied with 19 points and 4 assists and forward Katrin Sokoll-Potratz (176-71) added 5 points and 17 rebounds in the effort for Quakenbrueck Dragons. Hannover moved-up to ninth place in North, which they share with Hagen Phoenix and Bielefeld. Quakenbrueck Dragons lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with nine games lost. Hannover will face higher ranked ASC Theresianum Mainz (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
