There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Trabzonspor (11-9) lost at home to tenth ranked Gelisim (11-9) 86-80. Trabzonspor was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. The best player for the winners was American power forward Jermaine Dearman (202-80, college: S.Illinois) who scored 26 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import guard Michael Porrini (187-89, college: Kent St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Gelisim players scored in double figures. Power forward Adnan Onder Kulcebas (207-81, agency: 1x1 Sports) produced 18 points and 6 rebounds and naturalized Azerbaijani forward Rasim Bashak (200-80, agency: Court Side) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Trabzonspor's coach Hasan Ozmeric tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Gelisim moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Trabzonspor and Balikesir. Trabzonspor lost third consecutive game. Gelisim's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Izmir Izmir BSB.
