Regular Season Round 20: Izmir BSB - Selcuk Univ. 69-97

TB2L top team - Selcuk Universitesi (15-5) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighteenth ranked Izmir BSB (1-19) 97-69. It looked good early as Izmir BSB took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Selcuk Universitesi had a 24-17 second period charge getting the lead and Izmir BSB was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 69-97. Selcuk Universitesi forced 20 Izmir BSB turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Izmir BSB was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a quality performance of Ihsan Yalcin Azizmahmutogullari (-82) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and American Bill Clark (195-88, college: Duquesne) who added 18 points and 6 assists during the contest. Forward Gurur Baybora (-90) responded with 21 points and 7 rebounds and Tamer Gurpinar (-92) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Selcuk Universitesi maintains first position with 15-5 record, which they share with Usak. Izmir BSB lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 19 lost games. Selcuk Universitesi will play against Pertevniyal (#15) in Istanbul in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Izmir BSB's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Izmir to the arena Gelisim.
